I had my first apprentice slot with my WTUL DJ last night. Pretty cool shit. I do think the "progressive" thing might get on my nerves a little bit, but they have plenty of music that I like, including DFA stuff (LCD, Juan Maclean, Black Dice, Rapture, etc.), and lots of cool old vinyl. And as long as you meet programming requirements and it's not too popular, it's possible to bring music in. The coolest part though is bringing music out. I plan to take my laptop with me every time I go and leave it constantly ripping CDs.
So that's what I did from 10-12pm last night. When I got back, I decided it would be a great idea to stay up and watch Donnie Darko again (4-5th time? I can't remember) after a little preparation of the mind to experience crazy shit like that movie. So I ended up missing my 8am class. Two days in a row now I've overslept. I'm turning into such a slacker.

You have to play or bring in some CAN, Kraftwerk, early/experimental Sonic Youth...shit like that, cos that would be sweet.
And what falls under "progressive"? Like 70's prog-rock or what?

"progressive" means basically means that not many people have heard it. non-top 40. it also implies some pretentiousness to that effect in the case of some people there.
